It may well be.....but NOT because the ORG says anything about it.

There are laws that require that a landlord aka God, cannot simply kick out a tenant aka Satan. There was a load of paperwork, then the Sheriff's department had to present a quit claim for the tenant aka Satan to leave. Satan, although expected to leave around October 3/4 1914, simply decided to hang around. He subsequently filed a cease and desist order against the landlord aka God and has been hanging around ever since. Several of the other tenants aka Angels filed nuisance claims against the tenant aka Satan, but because so many of the other tenants aka Angels, some odd millions and millions of them, in fact about 1/3 of the entire tenant population, would hang out with him drinking and carousing, the tenant aka Satan has yet to leave, expecting that the landlord aka God will send in the hit squad and simply bury him out in the cornfield with Jimmy Hoffa.

Still nothing credible?
by Separation of Powers ini can hardly believe that anything new is gonna be announced at the annual meeting.
i mean, there is absolutely no one i know in this organization capable of keeping a secret and we haven't heard anything but "big changes are coming" "just wait and see" "big things are in the works" and my personal favorite posted by one of our members who was told not to diassociate because "things are gonna be announced that will change your mind".. no one i know at the hall or in positions of responsibilty has ever been able to keep anything confidential.
it's always been like the character on in lving color, "i aint one to gossip...but you didn't hear that from me.".

@ Terry- I haven't had the chance to mention this to you yet, but I really like your contributions to this forum. Yes, I agree 100% with your comment. It is kind of hard to distance themselves from the absurdity of CTR and JFR after building on that foundation for SOOO long. It's like expecting the Egyptians to move a pyramid and leave the foundation.
@hamsterbait- I remember something the boxer Muhammad Ali said, "Silence is golden when you can't think of a good answer."

New Appointments Are Very Fast & All On The CO
by baldeagle inthe week of september 15, 2014 was the congregations cos visit.
the midweek meeting was on tuesday, a very general bland talk was given by the co. in the past we would have had the elders & servants meeting on thursday night, and the other congregation meeting on friday.
as you know the friday meeting is no more.

Ahh, plausible deniability at its finest....The CO better hope he has no real assets, he is now on the line for every single thing that can happen with that elder or MS that "he" has appointed. (By Holy Spirit of course)

I realized I've been *hit on alot
by skeeter1 inabout a month ago, i realized that i didn't really care about my still-in jw family.
i just want to be left alone by them.
they caused me so much grief.

Good for you...move on. Remember the old JW illustration about "drinking a little bit of poison?" Yeah, that one. Some people are like poison. They will toxify your life. Get rid of em. It's better to be alone than surround yourself with people that make you feel lonely.

October 2nd, 2014: The World Ends Tomorrow, Taking all Bets!
by Oubliette inon october 2, 1914, charles taze russell, founder of the watchtower, announced that the gentile times have ended!.
tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since his historic announcment.. to commemorate this centennial occasion, i will gladly take bets in any amount of money that the world will not end tomorrow and that on friday, october 3rd, 2014 gmt, we will still all be here, for better or worse.. any die-hard jws interested in taking the other side of this friendly little wager?
still hoping the big "a" is coming tomorrow and your loving god, jehovah, is going to commit mass genocide and execute 99.9% of earth's population because they don't follow the dictates the 7 members of the "faithful and discreet slave," aka, the governing body of jehovah's witnesses?.
-
Separation of Powers
@ Enzo...it doesn't matter what Charles Taze Russel believed, he wasn't even part of the Faithful and Discreet Slave...he was demoted so he doesn't count anymore.
As for the world ending, it won't happen in October, God is a baseball fan.

Every week, the kid starts with a balance of whatever allowance you decide, say $50....each chore, homework, getting out of bed to get to school, everything that makes an adult responsible has a value....
Homework not ready for the next day's school...2.00
Getting up late....2.00
Not washing the dishes....5.00
If they are responsible, they end the week with $50, if not, then whatever is left.
Their allowance is their pay to purchase the things they want..
"I want a new pair of sneakers!" Well, that's $100, two weeks allowance. In the long run, it pays...you stop having to buy all the crap that catches their attention and they learn that if they really want it, they will have to be responsible. It works really well when there are more than two kids. I have a few, so when the oldest would see that the younger siblings were walking away with the full-boat allowance, it motivated them. Nothing serves as a better motivator for a kid than sibling rivalry.

Come with me, back to the 1980s--you know want to.
by FlyingHighNow ini don't know about ya'll, but i did not appreciate the 1980s enough.
i was too busy lamenting how different they were from the 1960s and 1970s to bask in and appreciate how wonderful they were.. this is 80s music, especially new wave music, and 80s fashion and culture appreciation thread.
what did you love about the 80s?
-
Separation of Powers
Loved the '80's....not a big fan of the Thompson Twins....It was all about U2 for me.
